yoga. breathwork. nature. connection.
imagine this…
waking up with the sun, overlooking the harbour & taking a walk down to the local beach for a sea swim. Then, bundling up & heading back to the grand house (totally refreshed) for a cup of tea and a bite before a morning of meditation, journaling & yoga.
afternoons bring healthy, delicious meals and plenty of down time on the outdoor terraces, or cozy by the fire. maybe you walk down to the waterfront or into Schull town, to explore the artistic nature of West Cork. daily activities and special excursions offer a chance to explore beaches, connect with others, and immerse in Irish nature.
evenings wind down with calming yin or restorative yoga, fostering a safe space for self-exploration and deep rest. each night, the table is set with deep intention and you are welcomed for an evening of connection over beautiful and delicious dinners. after dinner, choose to curl up with a book, walk down to the harbour for sunset, or enjoy the coziness of a pub for a card game, a drink, or to listen to some live music.
home isn’t always a place, but a feeling within us.
A Calling Home is more than a retreat—it is a gentle invitation to return to yourself. Across three nights in Schull, West Cork, you’ll be guided back to the essence of who you are and what brings you joy through yoga, breathwork, meditation, nourishing food, and the healing embrace of nature.
this is a space to soften, to rest, and to remember. to move with intention, to breathe with awareness, and to connect with others who share the same longing for presence. whether you arrive with a friend or come alone, you’ll find yourself welcomed into a circle of like-minded people, each on their own journey of homecoming.
the setting:
schull, west cork.
Schull village, nestled away in West Cork just 85kms (1.5 hours) from Cork City, is the main town on the Mizen Peninsula. It sits in the shadow of Mount Gabriel and along the famous Wild Atlantic Way. Locals will tell you the temperature here is warmer than most of Ireland, and the sub-tropical plants are there as proof.
Schull’s spectacular views, charming streets, lively atmosphere, and abundance of outdoor activities make it one of the best locations to escape to unwind and recharge. Around Schull, history whispers through ancient sites, castles, and forts waiting to be explored. Numerous beaches are within easy reach for lazy days in the sun. The village itself is famous for its craft, book, and local food shops, as well as a myriad of cafés and traditional pubs. With its slower pace of life, Schull is the perfect retreat to recharge, re-energise, and re-connect.

Kate is the Founder of eco psyche and a yoga teacher.
Kate has been teaching yoga for over 6 years now, since qualifying in Medellin, Colombia. Since then, she has completed yin trainings in Toronto, Canada, two breathwork teacher trainings in Dublin, Ireland and her advanced yoga teacher training in Paros, Greece. She also holds a Graduate Degree in Psychology, blending her fascination for the human mind with spiritual practices. Kate feels most in her dharma (purpose) while on her yoga mat.
To Kate, yoga is so much more than a physical practice- it is a tool to get to know yourself and to really get in touch with what you need and what you want at every stage of life. She strives to continue building a community with eco psyche as a safe space for people to support their wellbeing through movement, breath, connection, and with nature.

Favourite destination (so far): Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. A special place where I met some of the most important people in my life, including Sayna.
A meal that evokes a memory: Lebanese Kishk (ki-shick). Lebanese kishk soup is a mix of bulgur wheat, dried yogurt, onion, garlic and olive oil, served as a hot savoury porridge. We used to save the kishk we still had from Lebanon in the freezer and have it every Christmas morning or on our birthdays as children. It was always the most special treat and makes my heart feel warm just thinking about these times with my family.
Coffee or tea? Absolute tea girly now, whether it’s a herbal blend or a matcha.

Sayna is a passionate chef of eight years, but her love of food began much earlier, in her childhood home in Iran, where the kitchen was always filled with spices, stories, and the warmth of family meals. Traditional Persian cooking, deeply influenced by Ayurvedic principles of balance and nourishment, shaped the way she understands food and its ability to support the body and spirit.
Now based on the Sunshine Coast after spending the past three years living, travelling, and cooking around Australia, Sayna brings that same intention and heart into every dish she creates. Her cooking celebrates seasonal, local ingredients prepared in a way that feels vibrant, grounding, and deeply nourishing.
She also pours her creativity into her culinary brand, Sayna’s Sofreh, which means “Sayna’s Table” in Persian. It's a space where she expresses her love for food, storytelling, and bringing people together around beautiful, meaningful meals.
Whether she’s preparing a colourful shared feast or a simple bowl of comforting soup, Sayna believes the most memorable meals are the ones that connect us, just like the ones she grew up with.

Favourite animal: Dolphin
Favourite destination (so far): Guatemala. It’s where the whole trajectory of my life shifted and honestly, the reason I’m able to host this retreat with my best friend Kate!
A meal that evokes a memory: Any Persian dish always takes me straight back to Iran. The flavours instantly remind me of my home country, my family, and the years I spent growing up there. It’s such a physical, emotional feeling, like I’m back in Tehran, wrapped in the familiar comfort of my family.
Coffee or tea? I can’t choose. I’m a coffee and tea girl at heart. Drinking either one feels soothing and comforting to me.

what past guests are saying
“Kate and Sayna have a remarkable ability to create space for rest and transformation.
Kate's teaching ability is second to none. She is adept at calling you back, again and again, to the breath, to listening to your body. In a class full of students with varying degrees of yoga experience, Kate creates a safe and fun place to play, explore and learn. The mix of breath work and different styles of yoga create a space where all can feel safe, seen and welcome.
Sayna's food is truly some of the best I've ever eaten. Taking what's local and in season, and transforming it into healing and nourishing (not to mention delicious) fuel for the body and soul, Sayna makes food that feeds every part of the body. Her joy is present in her food, and so is her love for food and people.
Together, their superpower is building community. Both women, in their own unique ways, are warm and kind and find ways to connect people through movement and curiosity and compassion and food. You may come in as a stranger but you leave as a friend.”

“I had a really fabulous week with Kate and Sayna in Mallorca. The group was so warm and the girls really set a tone that was safe and welcoming. The yoga, food and general atmosphere was top notch. I will go again and highly recommend it.”
-Deirdre, Dublin
“The Root to Rise retreat was my first ever yoga retreat and I had no idea what to expect- so I went with a completely open mind. It turned out to be truly life-changing in so many ways. The care and attention to detail from Kate and Sayna was outstanding.
Every element felt so thoughtfully curated- the yoga themes and chakras were even reflected in the dinner table settings and meals, the boat excursion added a fun and adventurous touch and the creative extras like painting and journaling gave the week even more depth.
The yoga practice was both energising and challenging and it’s encouraged me to push myself in other aspects of my life. I especially loved the morning breath work- I left each session feeling more awake and clear and I’ve even started incorporating it into my mornings at home. These small practices are already creating big (and manageable) changes in my daily life.
Kate is such a gifted teacher. There were plenty of things I hadn’t tried before, but I always felt supported and cared for while also being encouraged to explore my limits. A very special mention to our chef, Sayna, who prepared some of the best food I’ve ever had (the homemade gnocchi was unforgettable!) and made sure we always had everything we needed- from snacks to coffee to comforting care. Each evening our dinner was a different colour to reflect the chakras, I can't imagine how much thought must have gone into this detail and it was really exciting to see how each one would be presented. Sharing these delicious and creative meals with such an amazing group of women made it even more special.
Our accommodation felt idyllic- plenty of spots for us all to relax by the pool, read our journal while admiring the gorgeous view of Mallorca.
Kate and Sayna’s energy was woven through every part of the retreat and I truly believe that’s what made the whole experience so powerful. Thank you both for creating such an unforgettable week. I can’t wait to see what you plan next. Much love! Xxx”
